Erica is the Assistant Director for Student Services at Garland ISD, where she helps oversee Choice of School, PreK-12 enrollment, PreK eligibility determination, inter-school transfers, and out-of-district enrollment. She leads teams at the Manuel and Maria Valle Student Services Center, focusing on supporting families in completing enrollment requirements. Her goal is to ensure that families new to the district and the country feel welcomed and supported as they begin their child’s educational journey.
Through the district’s Choice of Schools program, Erica provides families with current campus data, helping them make informed decisions that best meet their needs. She also guides school staff in interpreting enrollment data, ensuring campuses can make decisions that prioritize the needs of their communities.
With a background as a bilingual elementary teacher, bilingual instructional coach, and campus administrator—all at Title 1 campuses—Erica is passionate about providing equitable education for all students in public schools. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baylor University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University Texas.
As a wife, dog mom to a Goldendoodle, and mother of a toddler, Erica brings a unique perspective to her role, enabling her to balance the needs of families both as an educator and a parent.
