Biography

Emily works as Research and Data Manager for the Office of School Performance at New York City Public Schools, where she is part of the Survey Initiatives Team that supports two comprehensive district-wide surveys. In her role, Emily contributes to survey-related data collection, analysis, and reporting, while conducting research aimed at understanding how survey insights can better inform decision-making. She is interested in exploring ways survey data might help identify potential challenges such as enrollment decline, with the goal of supporting timely responses that benefit school communities. Emily values the importance of student voice in educational policy and decision-making. For the past two years, she has had the privilege of serving as a Partner for the Chancellor’s Student Advisory Council, where she works alongside dedicated student leaders to examine survey data and support their development as researchers and advocates. Through this collaboration, she helps ensure that student perspectives are included in district-wide discussions and initiatives. Her work represents an effort to connect data analysis with meaningful stakeholder engagement, exploring how research can help bridge student experiences with efforts toward systemic improvement in public education.
