She contributed to enhancing College and Career Readiness indicators for transfer high schools to better reflect the experiences of students with disrupted educational trajectories. Aurora also played a key role in designing and improving comparison group models used to evaluate school performance, supported initiatives to increase diversity in admissions, and helped develop tools that assist families in exploring school options aligned with their priorities. Before joining NYC Public Schools, Aurora worked for almost six years as a Research and Data Analyst at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in Early Intervention. There, she supported operational data needs and co-authored peer-reviewed research on continuity of services during the transition to telehealth amid the COVID-19 pandemic in NYC. Her work focused on improving access to services among underrepresented populations. Aurora holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the CUNY School of Public Health. Her career reflects a sustained commitment to equity-focused systems change, with a consistent emphasis on improving access to essential services and educational opportunities for historically underserved students and families.
