The Committed to Caring program honors David Autor for his unique approach to graduate student mentorship and advocacy.
In particular, Professor Autor goes above and beyond in his mentorship of graduate students by being an encouraging mentor and treating them as peers, not subordinates. Besides that, he has advocated for student rights and the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the Department of Economics. According to one nominator, all of Autor’s efforts have made the department a kinder and more equitable place.
