Sanjana is the specialist of financial planning at DC Public Schools (DCPS) where she conducts short- and long-term financial planning in relation to enrollment and the agency’s revenue and costs.
Prior to this role, she was on the school planning team where she played a central role in implementing citywide enrollment policies, including equitable access for Pre-K and the Deputy Mayor for Education’s 2023 Boundary Study recommendations. She also helped open DC’s first new neighborhood high school in 50 years, guiding community engagement and designing feeder pathways. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St Xavier’s College, Mumbai and a Masters in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania. Through the SAQ Fellowship, Sanjana aims to deepen her expertise in data-driven enrollment reform, learn best practices for opening new schools, and build a national network of peers in urban education systems.
